Health Activism:
The most dramatic form of activism we all can participate
in: Choosing our food. Nourishing ourselves, while deliciously saving our world.
I believe it is about time we realize how much power we have as consumers, our
choices every day count; they count for our own health, the health of our
family and for the future of our planet. It really is in our hands to make a
difference. We can actually change the
world, what about that?
Choose organic, choose sustainable, choose green, choose
fair-trade and choose healthy.
Our health is, overwhelmingly, tied to the quality of the
food we eat. And the food quality is directly tied to the quality of the soil
in which it was grown. Therefore, the health of the environment has a direct
tie to our health by way of food, not to mention by way of the air we breathe
and the water we drink.
“Never doubt that a
small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it
is the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead, Anthropologist
